Hi, I'm Steve Catalina!
Prior to establishing Expense Management Solutions Inc., in 2014, I was a Senior Manager at Supplier &
Expense Strategies (SES). My expertise is helping companies achieve increased profitability by reducing
operating expenses with their third-party suppliers. My expertise in the financial services industry includes large complex spend categories e.g. credit risk and fraud, servicing platforms, card branding, technology, professional services
and other IT and non-IT related services. My skills include vendor spend analysis, proactively identifying sub-optimal supplier
relationships, benchmarking, strategy development, financial analysis and modeling, contract negotiations,
project management and execution services. Collectively, I contributed more than
$200MM in annual run-rate savings for clients since 2014.
Prior to SES, I was Vice President of Supply Chain Management at Wells Fargo. I led strategic sourcing activities in the credit & risk management category, specializing in negotiations with the major credit risk agencies and other related vendors. In this role, I directly supported the Wells Fargo Mortgage and Card Services lines of business, and generated over $25MM in annual run-rate savings during the 2009 calendar year. I joined Wells Fargo on January 1, 2009 as part of the Wachovia merger and lead two merger integration teams. Prior to the Wells Fargo merger, I was Vice President of Global Supply Chain at Wachovia.
Before joining Wachovia, I was a Vice President responsible for enterprise-wide sourcing engagements within the JPMorganChase Card Services division, specializing in card rewards and card member benefits as well as other complex spends, and lead two merger integration teams responsible for bringing together spend categories following the merger of JPMorganChase and Bank One.
Earlier in my career, I spent more than six years with The Vanguard Group, one of the world’s largest investment firms, where I was a Procurement Facilitator specializing in IT software, maintenance and professional services contracts.
I earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree from Widener University in Pennsylvania. My interests include spending time with family, baseball, reading, and supporting local charitable organizations. My wife and I have three children and reside in Wilmington, Delaware.
